Any Time, Any Place
Off screen play has been a major boon to my gaming time as of late. My 3DS is now not the only option I have while the TV is otherwise occupied. It has allowed me to finally make progress with Assassin’s Creed 3, and enjoy running about making a mess of British occupation of the American colonies.
I’m not certain what I will do when I get around to Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. I already have a physical copy for PS4, and while I’m looking forward to the improved graphics, and generally more polished game, I don’t see myself running through myriad side missions in the time I have to play without the benefit of the Wii U’s off TV play.
I might trade in my PS4 copy and look for it on sale for Wii U for purely that purpose. I can wait on the PS4 for games that were developed specifically for it’s graphical prowess.
You could always get a vita for remote play on the PS4. It works pretty dang well when on LAN, though admittedly having to use the reach touch panel for R2/L2 is a bit of a pain.
I like the idea, but that brings the total cost up to 600 bucks with the PS4 and the Vita. That’s a lot of dough to throw down, especially considering That I don’t know what I’d play on it. Persona maybe?
And I consider that the vita screen is a bit over an inch smaller thsn the Wii U tablet.
It’s a a tough decision.
I hear ya. And yes, P4G is a great addition. I’ve enjoyed dragons crown quite thoroughly as well, and if you’re a PS+ person I think you can still get gravity rush for free. Ys Celceta as well is pretty fun. There’s all the PSP games and PS1 games as well.
But I get it, just wanted to throw out my experience with the remote play function for while at home.
I do have PS+, and I’ve been downloading every game available, regardless of my lack of a Vita, or of any desire to play said game, so my potential Vita library is quite large. I think about it every time I load PSN to troll for new games.
I’m glad remote play works well at home. I’ll have to think about it. Maybe break up the purchases.
Oh, one last thing about the remote play on the Vita, if you’re playing a vita game and want to switch to your PS4 you don’t have to stop your vita game or anything. Using remote play doesn’t force you to close games in order to use it. I just thought that was pretty freakin rad.
Damn, that is pretty sweet.
