I’m back to playing Ni No Kuni on PS3, and Zelda: A Link Between Worlds on 3DS, taking a hiatus from the constant Pokemoning.

The latter has a few new interesting puzzle aspects, particularly the ability to become a painting and move along walls in 2D. It can be challenging at times, and forces you to think outside the box in a way previously not found in Zelda games.

Ni No Kuni, on the other hand, is pretty much a straight old school RPG. That’s great, and I enjoy it, but sometimes the intensive grinding gets tiring, and I feel like I’m back playing Pokemon.

The monster catching mechanic makes it nearly identical to Pokemon, with the exception that I care very little about trying to catch every single monster in the game. The art is great, but the monsters just aren’t quite as cute or cool looking as my Pokemans.

Monday is St Patricks’s day, so we’ll continue this little story then, after Mike and Ryan have a full weekend to celebrate the occassion.
